Lord Howard shares memories of 70 years since starting at the Llanelli Boy’s Grammar School

Lord Howard of Lympne was the guest speaker at the Llanelli Boy’s Grammar School Old Boys and Graig Former Pupils Association Dinner on Friday (Oct 7).

His talk consisted of memories and commentary on 70 years of his life since setting foot into the Grammar School as an eleven-year-old pupil.

Lord Howard recalled many of the teachers and their unique personalities as well as some of his own exploits at the school. He also gave a potted history of the incredible changes he has experienced in his lifetime from the Death of King George through the Elizabethan Era and up to modern day with all the technological trappings.

It was a fascinating talk completely off the cuff, which modestly omitted so much of his extraordinary life in politics.
