Commemorative Magazine 1895 – 1977

This 104 page Magazine , entitled ”Through The Years 1895-1977 ”published 1977, was produced to record the history and activities of the  County Intermediate/Grammar/Grammar Technical School for the 82 years of existence, prior to the School becoming in 1977  ”The Graig Comprehensive School”. Headmaster from 1973  Mr. R I Denis Jones, Deputy Headteachers Maelgwyn Rhys Thomas since 1972 and Dafydd Smith since 1975

We wish to thank Mr. Roger K Roberts ,former pupil, in  school years 1957-1964, for providing this Magazine for inclusion on our Website. Mr. Roberts studied Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Birmingham University, and qualified with  M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees. After a period with the Plessy Company he spent most of his working life  with British Aerospace ,now renamed  BAE Systems ,having a successful career  mostly in the defense sector working on  Military Aircraft and also in the Shipbuilding Sector. In later years Mr. Roberts undertook consultancy work in the U.K. and Middle East ,again in the Aerospace sector . Now retired, he is living in Henley on Thames.
